Dressy And Casual Looks For The Tunic
The latest trend this season is all about the tunic. I like the tunic because it can be worn as a dress or as a long top; it’s truly a versatile item. With the tunic, as with fashion, there are no set rules. A great tunic to wear on the weekends can be found at The Gap. They have three versatile tunics that can be paired with jeans or worn as a dress. The first tunic is called Hooded Slub Tunic; it comes in two colors, cappuccino and black. The Hooded Slub Tunic is a cotton mix, sleeveless, hooded, shirred front and is mid thigh length. The next tunic at The Gap is called The Shirred V-Neck Tunic. It comes in two colors, brown and white. The Shirred V-Neck Tunic is a linen blend, 3/4 Sleeves, rounded neck and mid thigh length. The next tunic, found at The Gap is called Embroidery Hooded Tunic. It’s made of cotton, 3/4 Sleeves, V-neck and mid thigh length. To complete that relaxed weekend look pair them up with denim jeans, also, from The Gap. I also think slippers or flip flops can effectively finish up the look. Don’t try too hard to look casual. Remember less is more.
Then in the evening check out the The Ruffle Halter Shirred Tunic from Baby Phat. This tunic is a polyester blend, halter, deep v-neck, shirred along the seams and mid thigh length. The Ruffle Halter Shirred Tunic comes in two colors: tan and wine. The only other accessory you’ll need for this look is a stack of gold or gold tone bracelets (at least five for each wrist) and don’t forget to add a great pair of shoes.
And to top off your fashion statement you’ll need to find that perfect purse. But before you start looking, here are some guidelines I always use:
#1 If you’re 5’7 and taller look for purses were the bottom of your purse dips lower that your waist.
#2 If you’re 5’6 and shorter look for purses were the bottom of your purse is higher than your waist.
#3 Don’t shop for purses in the juniors department, unless you are a junior.
#4 The colors on the purse does not have to match your shoes or your outfit. Be creative. Remember match-matchy is very boring-boring.
